All our students are encouraged to aim higher, by progressing onto one of our Higher National Certificate and or Diploma courses. These qualifications provide specialist skills and knowledge, enabling students to enter employment at a more senior level. In some cases you will also be able to complete a final year ‘top up’ at university and receive a degree qualification.
Studying Higher Education at College means significantly cheaper fees than at university. Some students may have the option of paying in instalments and access to additional financial assistance via an education grant.
For some, East Surrey College is their local College, and further savings can made on both travel and living expenses, enabling more focus on study. For many of our students who are already in employment, studying Higher Education at East Surrey College is the ideal way for them to continue to earn a living whilst enhancing their career prospects.
Support Every Step of the Way
Studying Higher Education at a college often means you will get more out of your learning experience than if you were studying at a university. Our smaller classes, comprehensive support and access to individual tutors and resources, all add up to a more personal service, tailor-made to the individual.
Stepping Stone to University
Our range of Higher National Certificates and Diplomas are recognised qualifications in their own right and can lead to employment at a more senior level. They can also form the equivalent of the first or second year (respectively) of a full Honours Degree, which will enable many students to complete a final third year ‘top up’ at university.
Our Foundation Degrees are awarded by Brighton University (subject to validation) - and are studied for the first two years at East Surrey College with progression on to a third year top-up at Brighton University to a full Honours Degree.
