Your First Week
During your first few days at ESC, our friendly staff will assist you with your timetable and finding your classes, but you will be treated as an adult and be expected to adhere to the College Learning Contract. This is a key transition period for our students between school and College, and we will support you throughout. You will meet your personal tutor, support staff and fellow course mates!

Freshers’ Fair
Once students are settled into College, we host our annual Freshers’ Fair! The event runs for two days, and is a chance for new and returning students to find out more about available support, extra-curricular activities and how to get involved with the SU! We have also hosted companies such as NCS, British Army and YMCA, offering advice on work experience and volunteer opportunities.

Activity Programme
We want you to make the most of your time at ESC, which includes getting involved in our varied Activity Programme! For the competitive amongst you, we have a range of Sports Clubs including Archery, Basketball, Futsal and more. We also offer a ‘Chill Out Zone’ to play board games, read or play video games! If you’re passionate about something that isn’t on offer, bring it to ESC and start a new club!

Get Involved
Volunteering as a Student Ambassador or Course Representative is a great way to promote the College, by acting as a representative at Open Events and Careers Fairs. By joining the Student Union, you can also be part of important decision-making processes. You’ll attend College Council meetings and ensure the student voice is heard. This also looks great on your CV!

Raising Aspirations Week
In October, we welcome a range of employers for our ‘Raising Aspirations Week.’ Each department has its own talks and workshops, giving students a flavour of careers to work towards.
In the past, we’ve received visits from employers such as Dermalogica, Surrey Fire & Rescue Service, British Airways, Border Force and SES Water!

Open Events
We hold Open Events in September, October and November, which are great opportunities for your friends and family to visit the College and explore our range of courses! As well as Full-time courses, we also offer Higher Education, Part-time Leisure and Qualification courses, with something for all schedules and interests!

Parents’ Evenings
We host the first of our Parents’ Evenings towards the end of the first term, which is an opportunity for parents and carers to meet course tutors and discuss students’ progress and targets for the term ahead.

We look forward to seeing you at ESC!
