Mental Health Matters
Date: 07 October 2017
Angie and Mark from Art Matters presented Reigate School of Art’s Robert Jones with a limited edition box set of prints to celebrate Mental Health Day. Having worked together for many years, Art Matters thanked the College for all the support we provide.
Last year Art Matters celebrated its 20th Anniversary, marking the occasion with an exhibition of artworks from across the years, a self-published book of photographs and the creation of 20 print-box sets containing 20 prints by 20 artists from the Art Matters studio. The collection, entitled 20/20 Vision, marks 20 years of promoting positive images of mental health in Surrey and the South East.
Each artist produced an edition of 20 prints, sharing a variety of techniques and approaches. Many of these artists had no prior experience in printmaking and have gained their skills, confidence and knowledge whilst attending the studio as part of their creative pathway to recovery.
Art Matters is a community arts studio and centre of wellbeing and mindfulness aiming to connect communities and provide creative pathways to recovery. It is part of the mental health charity Richmond Fellowship. For more info: www.artmatters-richmondfellowship.org.uk
