National Apprenticeship Week - Day 4
Date: 08 March 2018
Today is day 4 of National Apprenticeship Week and we continued celebrating by welcoming SES Water, Crest Nicolson and Sunninghill Construction to chat to our students . Throughout the day our students had the opportunity to learn more about how to apply for an Apprentice and what life as an Apprentice is like.
HR Apprentice Abi and HR Advisor Sharon from SES Water started the day with a presentation to our Business students about the different types of Apprenticeships they offer. Abi shared what it’s like to work at SES Water and the opportunities it has given her. She went on to say “Take the leap and apply for something you want to do.”
We were then delighted to be joined by Liza from Crest Nicolson who hosted an internal competition with our plumbing students who were asked to answer in teams two questions; “What are we looking for in an Apprentice?” and “How would you advertise an Apprenticeship?”. Spokesmen from each group presented their answers and as a result two groups of four were guaranteed a fantastic opportunity for an Apprenticeship interview at Crest Nicolson.
WIth International Women’s Day celebrated today it was great to hear from such inspirational women.
We are pleased to also see National Apprentice Week celebrated outside of the classroom where our Level 2 Bricklaying Apprentice Taylor Cranfield at WMT Building Services Ltd and Level 3 Engineering Apprentice Tom Charman at Gatwick Airport took part by taking on a variety of activities throughout the day.
A big thank you to SES Water, Crest Nicolson and coming to speak to the students and giving them a full insight into Apprenticeship life!
