Public Services students explore WW1 battlefields

Date: 25 April 2018

Over the Easter holidays, 24 students from our Public Services department travelled across the Channel to explore famous battlefields of the First World War. The students began their historical visit in Belgium at the Ypres Battlefield, with a moving Last Post ceremony in the evening.

The students also learnt about mining operations on the Western Front before stopping off at the Bayernwald German trench system, and crossing the border to France and discovering more about the Battle of the Somme.
