Brake Time for ESC’s Motor Vehicle Department
Date: 25 July 2022
Richard Drayson, a Technician in East Surrey College’s Motor Vehicle Department, recently won a competition run by Professional Motor Mechanic Magazine. To win the competition Richard had to answer questions relating to braking systems. His prize was a Brembo Brake Metrology Kit, which he decided to donate to the college.
Italian company Brembo is a world leader in performance braking systems and East Surrey College was honoured that their UK and Ireland Key Account Manager Siti Abdullah took the time to present the prize in person.

Richard accepted the prize along with Motor Vehicle Programme Manager George Keith, who talked to Siti about potential collaborations such as training seminars. In addition to the metrology kit, Siti presented the Motor Vehicle Department with some technical books and a ‘goodie bag’ filled with Brembo pens, lanyards, and keyrings.

Richard said: “Naturally, I was delighted to find out that I had won a prize but decided to gift it to the Motor Vehicle department. Students will enjoy using this measuring equipment and it will help them learn about the importance of accurately measuring brake discs.”
