Gatwick Airport visit East Surrey College to talk about their apprenticeship schemes

Date: 11 February 2025

On Monday 10 February Gatwick Airport visited East Surrey College to talk about their award-winning apprenticeship programmes available for college leavers.

The presentation by Dave White, Apprenticeship Lead at Gatwick, gave an overview of their various engineering apprenticeships that cover all infrastructure and critical assets across the airport. During the talk, Dave enlightened students on the various roles that are available at the airport, including in Airfield & Transport, Baggage Infrastructure and Terminal operations.

Olivia Bushell, a second year Engineering Apprentice at Gatwick said “The apprenticeship programme is an incredible opportunity for anyone with a passion in engineering. It allowed me to begin an exciting career and be part of the team which keeps one of the busiest single runway airports running smoothly”.

Dave advised any students who were considering applying for an Apprenticeship to try and convey their passion and enthusiasm for the industry and the role, particularly researching the airport and the second ‘Decade of Change’ goals for sustainability.

Applications for the 2025 intake open on the 17th February 2025. Click here to learn more.
