Public Services Student Wins Poetry Competition

Congratulations to our Public Services student, Rowan, who recently won the 'Empowered' Poetry competition! Students were encouraged to write about things that motivate or empower them, and Rowan was inspired to write about a family member: 

"I was inspired to write this poem because of my great granddad who served in World War 2. I wanted to reflect what they did for us and where we are now if it wasn't for them."

Rowan initially enrolled on our LEAP (Learning, Employability and Progression) course, where he built up his skills before joining Public Services Level 1. You can read his story here.

As a prize, Rowan was gifted a copy of 'We are the Dead', a collection of poems and paintings from World War 1, to inspire his next work. Take a look at his poem below:
