Receipt of Certificates
Date: 03 September 2021
BTEC & Functional Skills certificates – all levels
We have been advised by Pearson (The BTEC awarding body) that the printing of BTEC and Functional Skills certificates will run between 1 September and 7 November.
There is no particular order for them to be printed so it cannot be assumed that we will receive Entry level certificates first, then Level 1 and so on, they could arrive in any order.
GCSE certificates
The GCSE certificates from Pearson, AQA and WJEC will not arrive until mid to late October. The latest they will arrive is 7 November.
All other awarding body certificates
We have just started to receive certificates from other awarding bodies we work with and expect to receive the bulk of these this September.
We are able to print result reports for any student requiring proof of achievement for employment or education purposes.
How will I be notified?
Once we have logged receipt of certificates there will be 3 methods of issuing certificates to students:
- Where students have returned to continue their studies in 2021-22, the certificates will be given to their new tutors to hand out in class.
- Where students have left the College, they will be contacted by text/email/phone to collect their certificates.
- If students have moved out of the immediate area (further than 20 miles) we can post certificates, but this is at the students’ own risk. The College does not accept liability for any items that may go missing in the post, therefore in the unlikely event of certificates going astray in transit, the student would be liable to pay the replacement certificate fees directly to the awarding bodies. These can vary from £25 to £47 per certificate.
Please be aware that if you have undertaken multiple courses, we normally wait until all your certificates have arrived before contacting you, as you could end up making 2 or 3 trips to collect all your certificates.
Notes about certificates
If any student has lodged a stage 2 appeal about their grades to an Awarding Body they will not receive a certificate until the appeal is resolved.
For courses where QTAGs (qualification teacher assessed grades) were submitted, we will only receive a qualification certificate with the overall grade, there will be no certificate showing all the units completed or exam modules.
This mainly applies to BTEC courses that have exams at Level 2 and Level 3 as well as GCSE English and Maths.
