Discovering feats of engineering at the Science Museum!

Date: 30 April 2019

On Thursday 25 April, Motor Vehicle Level 2 students visited the Science Museum in London. Whilst there, they had an opportunity to consolidate their learning by discovering technologies and engineering feats that have been achieved by mankind. They were also able to appreciate many of the scientific principles that are applied in the engineering field.

The students also had an opportunity to understand the use of mathematics in engineering by visiting the Winton Gallery mathematics exhibition. The exhibition featured the Charles Babbage mechanical analytical engine that could perform arithmetic and data processing. Although Babbage was never able to complete it, this device was the precursor of the modern digital computer!
