Sports Students Visit Solent University
Date: 09 December 2021
Our Sport Level 3 students had a great taster day at Solent University in Southampton, where they explored the Sport & Fitness courses and facilities available.
They were greeted by Rachel McCulloch from the Schools and Colleges Team, who took them to an interactive session led by Adam Lewis, Course Leader in Sport Coaching. In this session, the students explored how assessing and addressing limited ankle range of motion may be the key to enhancing squat depth and physical performance.
After lunch at The Dock Restaurant, the students took part in a taster session entitled 'The Sports Therapist's Toolbox', led by Tom Gray, Senior Lecturer Sport & Exercise Therapy. In this session, the Level 3s explored different tools used by Sports Therapists to assess and rehabilitate injured athletes.

Feeling inspired, our students were then taken on a tour of the university's Sports Complex!
