Childcare Level 3 - Elizabeth
Former School(s): The Priory Dorking
Elizabeth visited various college Open Events, and decided that ESC was best suited to her career aspirations and found that:
“ESC was so much more welcoming and friendly – I was excited to start the course and be part of the family. At the event, I was given more info about the course, so I knew what it would involve.”
She joined the Childcare Level 2 course, as a step towards her goal of becoming a Primary School Teacher. Her highlights of the course have included practical activities, and learning about health & safety:
“it’s interesting to learn how many illnesses children are susceptible to, but also which ones they need to get in order to get better.”
She also carries out a placement at a nursery, two days a week, and has now been employed as bank staff there.
“What I learn in lessons I’m able to see happen in real life at the nursery. It’s like a family, we all support each other!”
After the second year of her Level 3 course, Elizabeth is hoping to progress onto the Early Years Foundation Degree, before studying her PGCE.
