 Childcare Level 3

Childcare Level 3 - Molly

Former School(s): Reigate School

Molly previously studied Childcare Level 2 and chose the Childcare pathway as she is passionate about helping children with disabilities. Her reasons for applying to ESC include it being her local college and:

"I heard about the college through a careers talk at school and visited the college during an Open Event to get more of a feel of the environment."

On the course, Molly has been able to develop her interests and learn new skills such as "how to bathe and care for babies." She's also benefited from employer talks, both in-person and virtual - “It’s really helpful hearing from industry experts explaining the different roles available.”

Alongside her course, Molly has gained a variety of work experience, starting with a placement at Daisy Chain Nursery whilst on Level 2. During Year 1 of Level 3, she worked at Bright Horizons and more recently undertook work experience with Hatchlands Primary School. Whilst on this placement, Molly helped with activities, as well as supporting the pupils with their numeracy and literacy skills.

As well as this, Molly dedicates her Saturdays to the YMCA Sovereign Centre, where she works as a Disability Play Worker, and in her spare time, volunteers as a Young Leader with Woodcraft Folk, a local club running activities for 5-9 year olds.

Building on her work experience, Molly aspires to work in a special needs primary school after completing her Level 3 qualification.
