This is a practical, work-related course, which develops the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to provide a sound, basic IT education. It offers experience in a range of IT skills from web design and Office applications to basic programming and hardware installation, and includes practical assignments. You will also take part in work experience or a work based project during non-college days.

During the course, you will develop the core knowledge and skills needed for entry into a range of digital occupations by looking at data and digital systems; how software and business interact; the security, testing, planning and legal issues. There will be a mixture of classroom-based teaching and learning and ?on-the-job'work as this qualification requires a mandatory 315 hours (minimum) industry placement which you must undertake and complete in order to be successfully certified.

Information Communication Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship (Apprenticeship)

Please note: you must be employed before applying for an Apprenticeship. The broad purpose of the ICT occupation is to deliver efficient operation and control of the IT and/or Telecommunications infrastructure (comprising physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage). The work of an ICT involves undertaking a vast array of specialist roles supporting business critical requirements and focus on customer solutions. Networking, Server, IT Essentials, Secure Communications, programming, and databases are just an example of typical tasks and projects undertaken within the likely areas of employment.

Digital Technologies HNC* (HE Full Time)

This Level 4 course will give a broad introduction to digital technologies and to a range of specialist functions. You will develop and strengthen core skills, while preparing to study specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility. You will study a range of topics including Professional Practice in the Digital Economy Innovation and Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, Cloud Fundamentals, Networking in the Cloud, Database Design & Development, Project Management and Games Development. Internet Software Development Foundation Degree (FdSc) (HE Full Time)

This Foundation Degree includes the study of such topics as client-side and server-side scripting, and Database Design and Implementation using SQL, all of which contribute to the current extraordinary achievements of the Internet and provide solid foundations for the next major innovation of the Web, namely Web 3.0. We will introduce students to a selection of current Internet technologies like Web Server configuration and control which form an integral part of the course. This topic integrates well within the project-based approach of the programme that reflects ?real life' problems that students can expect to encounter in the world of work. As with much of the modern coding paradigm, an Object Orientated approach will be used fundamentally to develop coding solutions. This degree course is awarded by the University of Chichester.
