Operation Fountain - Surrey Police teaming up with local education networks
We were delighted to be working with Surrey Police again recently as part of the Operation Fountain initiative in Redhill and Reigate.
The College staff and students were involved in a proactive activity as part of an initiative to tackle illegal use and abuse of drugs in the community.
We welcomed an arranged visit from a police dog handler and their passive drugs dog with the aim to send a clear message to potential gangs looking to recruit students and to offer support and guidance to anyone who may have been in the presence of drugs. The objective of the exercise is diversionary rather than looking to criminalise young adults.
As a Further Education College, we support a diverse range of students in the community; we fully endorse this proactive approach to help tackle a growing national drug problem.
