Results Day 2020

Published: 24 August 2020

BTEC - UPDATE (24.08.20, 18:30)

The awarding body have advised they will be issuing the updated and final BTEC results during the course of this week and these will be emailed to students’ college email accounts as soon as they are received by the College.

Results Day 2020 - Thursday 20 August 2020

UPDATE (19.08.20, 22:50)

This afternoon we have been advised that following Ofqual’s announcement that A Level and GCSE students are to receive Centre Assessment Grades; Pearson the Awarding Body for BTECs, have reviewed the impact on BTEC students and taken on board feedback from teachers, schools and colleges. Following their review they have decided to apply Ofqual’s principles for students receiving BTECs this summer.

This means that they will now be completing a regrading of all the following BTECs: BTEC Level 3 Nationals (2010 QCF and 2016 RQF), BTEC Level 1/2 Tech Awards, BTEC Level 2 Technicals and BTEC Level 1/2 Firsts.

As a consequence of this they have confirmed that we will not be able to issue any BTEC Level 1 and Level 2 results on Thursday 20 August 2020.

Pearson are assuring students that no grades will go down as part of this review.  They have stated that their priority is to ensure fair outcomes for BTEC students in relation to A Levels and GCSEs, and that no BTEC student is disadvantaged.

At this moment in time we have not been advised of the timeline for delivery of the results by Pearson.  We will obviously share further updates as soon as we receive them.

If you have any urgent queries then please contact your course tutor directly.

GCSE English and maths results are unaffected and will be communicated by student email as already advised.

We would also like to advise that all enrolment arrangements for 2020/21 will be continuing as planned.  Therefore if you have a phone appointment arranged we ask that you attend your scheduled appointment with our team. We have added an additional enrolment day on Saturday 22 August, and those applicants scheduled for Saturday will be contacted by text and email.

 UPDATE (18.08.2020, 12:27)

The Exams regulator Ofqual, has announced that GCSE results due out this Thursday are to be based on centre assessed grades.

For those students who completed their GCSE English and GCSE Maths with us in 2020/21, the GCSE results will be released by the Awarding Bodies on Thursday 20 August 2020 at 08:00.

Please note: This information is correct as of 17 August 2020. If Government guidance changes, we will update the information accordingly.

How will results be released?
