Supported Internship Students Share Their Success

Our Supported Internship students have made amazing progress this year, and have shared their story with us below:

“Our first term of the Supported Internship course was a great success. After settling into our new normal of sanitising, wearing facemasks and socially distancing at College, we worked on our coursework and managed to complete the first two units by Christmas!

The Lockdown in January meant we could not come back into College for the time being, so our course leader Clare Chipping, set us up on Microsoft Teams. Every Tuesday we logged onto teams and had a full online day as if we were in college. One student who didn’t have access to Teams at home was kindly loaned a laptop from the College who acted quickly and efficiently.

From January until March, we achieved 100% attendance online, and smashed out two more units for our qualification with the amazing support from tutor Clare and our LSA Claire Cova.”

Since returning to College, the students have picked up where they left off on Teams and have got all work organised and handed in. Now with only seven weeks left of College, they have one unit to complete to achieve their qualification.

“The lockdown has not affected our progress and work ethic and we are proof hard work pays off no matter the circumstances! We want to say a huge thank you to Clare and Claire for all of their support throughout this year and we would not be where we are today without them.”
