Surrey Police team up with local education networks

Surrey Police team up with local education networks on Operation Fountain.
We are delighted to be part of a joint initiative between Surrey Police and local colleges/schools in Redhill and Reigate.
Today the college staff and students were involved in proactive operations as part of an initiative to tackle illegal use and abuse of drugs in the community.
This morning we have received an arranged visit from police dog handlers and their passive drugs dogs. The aim is to send a clear message to potential gangs looking to recruit students and to offer support and guidance to anyone who may have been in the presence of drugs.
The objective of the exercise is diversionary rather than looking to criminalise young adults.
As a local college supporting a diverse range of students in the community, we endorse this proactive approach to help tackle a growing drug problem in the area and nationally.
