This Level 1 qualification provides an introduction to carpentry and joinery skills. It allows students to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in carpentry or joinery.
After learning the basic skills at Level?1, you can follow one of two routes: Site carpenters will work on building sites erecting and fitting timber. Bench carpenters will manufacture items such as roof trusses and staircases ready to be delivered to the building site to be installed by the site carpenters.
Change of Career Introduction to Carpentry (Part Time)
This change of career course is designed to give you a feel of this particular discipline. The staff will give you an overview of career opportunities in this subject along with some practical activities to give you a taste of the subject.
This apprenticeship is ideal for businesses working in the general building trade who will need staff to become generally proficient in Brickwork, Carpentry, Painting and Decorating and plumbing without gaining the full qualification in each of these disciplines. The college training contains modules such as
