This industry‑recognised qualification is designed for learners who want to start a career as a Gym Instructor in a gym, leisure centre or health and fitness environment.
The course provides the knowledge, skills and hands‑on experience required to work safely and professionally with clients in a gym‑based setting. Learners will develop a sound understanding of anatomy and physiology, fitness training principles, customer service, health and safety, and how to plan, deliver and review gym‑based exercise programmes.
A strong practical focus allows learners to build confidence on the gym floor, supporting clients with inductions, supervising exercise sessions, and promoting healthy, active lifestyles. The qualification meets industry requirements and is aligned to the CIMSPA Gym Instructor Professional Standard and the Skills England Leisure Team Member occupational standard, helping learners become job‑ready for the fitness industry.

On successful completion, learners can progress directly into employment as a Gym Instructor or move on to further study, including the Level 3 Personal Training qualification.

The fees displayed are the MAXIMUM payable by adults aged 19+ unless you qualify for a concessionary fee. Please be aware that there may be additional costs for materials.
Concessions
Tuition fees may be waived or reduced if you are on a low income or receive certain benefits.
If you don’t qualify for a concession, you will need to pay for your course in full or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost (Level 3-6 courses only).
