Olena came to the UK from Ukraine in April 22. Jafan is an asylum seeker from Iraq. Prior to leaving Iraq, Jafan studied psychology at university, which he loved. He had been planning to further his studies with a Master’s or Doctorate degree. Jafan had learnt some English at school and college but wanted to improve his English language skills when he arrived in the UK. The ESC Summer School was suggested by the local council.  “I enjoyed meeting students from other countries.
