East Surrey College offers a Get Ready course to prepare 16-18 year olds who have been out of education for some time or have barriers to learning.
Our Get Ready course is a great starting point for young people to prepare for their next steps. The course provides a safe place to develop their communication skills, and confidence to prepare for a full-time College course, or to head into the world of work.

Get Ready focuses on supporting young people to manage the expectations of college life, achieve their qualifications and progress on to fantastic destinations at college and beyond.
Get Ready benefits from small groups, and expert tutors, alongside strong pastoral support.
Areas covered include:
- Certificate in Personal and Social Skills, including topics such as teamwork, dealing with problems, managing relationships, and skills such as personal finances, community action and preparation for work.
- Essential Digital Skills qualification.
- Math and English qualifications if required.
- Tutorial and enrichment.

There are no entry requirements for either course. Please speak with our Client Services team clientservices@esc.ac.uk to find out when you can join this course.
If you are aged under 19 on 31 August in the year of entry, tuition is free.
