On Wednesday 21 May, the Quality Team held their annual student council meeting in the Common Room, an opportunity that allowed students to provide feedback on how the college supports their academic and personal development.

Student council meetings are a great way to strengthen communication between staff and students and help to build a more supportive environment for learners. Key areas of focus for the meeting included qualification support, enrichment, teaching and learning as well as student support. Representatives who have made valuable contributions to these sessions were also awarded certificates for being outstanding and dedicated members of the college’s student voice throughout the academic year.
Helen Wiffen, Head of Quality said ‘Our student representatives this year have given clear- and forward-thinking feedback. This enabled change that has benefitted them and their peers as well as students in years to come.’
Are you passionate about shaping the future of education and making a positive impact in your college community? We are currently looking for dedicated and enthusiastic students to join our Board of Governors.
If you are interested in this role, please send a brief statement of interest outlining why you are interested in being a student governor and email this to jordanjohnson@esc.ac.uk by Wednesday 5 June 2025.
