Before the end of half term, motor vehicle students enjoyed a visit from GSF Car Parts and Aftermarket Business Solutions, two industry leaders who shared their real-world insight into the future of the automotive industry.
Mark Greenwood, Divisional Director of GSF Car Parts, and Mike Smallbone from Aftermarket Business Solutions delivered an exclusive joint presentation focusing on the future of the automotive aftermarket supply chain.

Speaking to a packed room of ambitious students, the duo broke down how parts distribution network logistics operate on a national scale. They also highlighted the rapidly evolving technology required to keep modern supply chains moving efficiently.
The talk concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students asked questions about career progression, industry hiring practices, and emerging green technologies. The pairs combined expertise and knowledge of the sector proved useful and an engaging factor for many students.

Following the presentation and Q&A session, GSF Car Parts and Aftermarket Business Solutions kindly supplied goody bags for those in attendance with branded merchandise.
Following the talk, Motor Vehicle Technician, Richard Drayson, reflected on the experience, “Hearing directly from directors who manage national supply chains gives us a completely different perspective than a textbook. It really helps us and the students see where qualifications can take learners.”
Skills Practitioner Bill Darnbrook, added saying, “It was an excellent day for our students and great to see their engagement with prospective motor industry employers”.
The visit was a great example of showing students the wealth of employment opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. Thank you to Mark Greenwood and Mike Smallbone for dedication their day to speak with our students.
