A day of celebrations as students receive their GCSE results Â
Thursday 20 August was an exciting and emotional day for students at East Surrey College as they collected their GCSE results, celebrating months of hard work and dedication.
Students gathered in the Winter Garden to receive their results, sharing the moment with friends, classmates and the teachers who have supported them throughout their studies. It was a moment to reflect on just how far they have come and look towards their next steps.
GCSE Results Day is a big moment in a young person’s education. At East Surrey College, we understand how important English and Maths are, not only for progressing into further education and future careers, but also for everyday life. Our dedicated teachers work closely with students to help them build these essential skills, providing encouragement every step of the way.

English lecturer, Sharmila, was delighted to celebrate her students’ achievements, saying: “I am extremely happy to celebrate the success of my students who achieved a Grade 4 and above in their English Language GCSE. Their hard work and dedication truly paid off, and they should be so proud of this wonderful achievement.”Â
Lucienne celebrates her achievement Â
One student celebrating their achievements was Lucienne, who worked incredibly hard throughout the year to prepare for her exams.
Speaking about her approach to revision, Lucienne said: “Alongside my GEMS classes at college, I revised lots at home and did so many past papers and made sure I passed them, so that when I came to my actual exam I was prepared.”
Her results are a fantastic reflection of the dedication she put into her studies.
Results Day means much more than just a grade for our students. It’s a celebration of their perseverance and the personal growth they have shown along the way. Whether students achieved the grades they were hoping for or are now considering a different route there are always opportunities available to help them take their next step.
