Last week, our Travel and Tourism students had the opportunity to take part in a Classview learning event hosted by Northampton College. The afternoon offered valuable insight into careers within the travel industry, while giving students the chance to collaborate and share ideas with other students from Northampton College, Brooklands College and Wirral Met College.
Hearing directly from the industry
Students heard from a former student who has gone on to become a cabin crew member at Ryanair. He shared what life in the aviation industry is really like, giving students a first-hand look at the role and the range of exciting opportunities a career in travel and tourism can offer. It was a fantastic chance for our students to hear directly  from someone who has turned their studies into a career.
There was also a chance for students to immerse themselves, as staff and students got involved in a practical demonstration of an in-flight safety briefing, putting into practice some of their learning from the session.
An invaluable learning experience
Lecturer Kelly Clark described the session as an excellent learning experience, saying: “From my perspective, opportunities like these are invaluable in enhancing our learners’ experience at college and enriching their education beyond the traditional classroom. They bring learning to life, making it more interactive, engaging and, most importantly, fun!”
Having access to Classview is a fantastic resource for our college, making it easy to connect with other classrooms, colleges and industry professionals. It creates opportunities for collaboration and interactive learning, helping our students explore new perspectives and see how their studies can open doors to future careers.
