OSC students and staff were recently recognised for their outstanding achievements at the Committee of South London Principals Best Student and Teacher Awards, held at the House of Lords.
The event brought together representatives from 40 colleges and adult education providers. Our nominated students and staff proudly accepted their awards during the ceremony. Guests also enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea with sandwiches, tea and a selection of sweet treats.

Among those recognised at the event were Level 1 Motor Vehicle student Nathan and his tutor, Gary Crowhurst, who were nominated together for the positive impact they have had. Nathan was recognised for his outstanding resilience and valuable contributions to the college race team, consistently demonstrating a positive attitude, a willingness to get involved.
Gary was nominated for his compassionate and unwavering support, providing the guidance and encouragement that has enabled Nathan to thrive. Through his reliable presence and thoughtful approach, Gary has helped create an environment in which Nathan has been able to develop his confidence, skills and potential.
Reflecting on the recognition received by OSC students and staff, Assistant Principal Debbie Ryle said the day served as “a powerful reminder of resilience and opportunity” and was “a reminder that education changes lives everyday”.Â
A huge congratulations to both Nathan and Gary for their hard work and unwavering commitment to teaching and learning!
