Hashim left his home country of Ethiopia and eventually came to the UK to study, in order to improve his English skills and job prospects.
The College was recommended to Hashim by his keyworker, and he commented that he was surprised at how large it was compared to school:
“She said it was a great College, and when I arrived I could see it was.”
As part of his ESOL course, Hashim particularly enjoys Maths, which is his favourite subject and is “so important for all jobs.” He plans to work towards his Maths GCSE and start an Electrical Installation course.Â
He has found the teachers to be extremely supportive and enjoys being in a class of just 14 students. Before Christmas, Hashim and his coursemates studied the tradition of Pantomime, and put on their own show of ‘Cinderella’ at the College, with Hashim in a starring role!
