What led you to choosing this course?
I had previously studied Applied Criminology at a different College and dropped out realising it wasn’t for me. When speaking to my parents, they encouraged me to look for courses that would relate to something that I love – which is gaming – and that’s when I learned about the Games Design course at ESC.
Why did you decide to study at ESC?
The College has a good reputation and I was interested in studying the Games Design course.
What do you enjoy most about your course?
I like that we get the freedom to design and create whatever we think is possible. For my first project we had to create a short animation using a computer software called Blender. My animation was for a pirate canon firing from a ship.
Our second project is more focused on 3D modelling and game design – I have just finished mocking up my storyboard and it’s awaiting feedback.
How are you finding the teaching/support?
The teaching is great – our tutor, Daniel takes his time talking us through the steps on how to use professional software’s. .
What are your future plans?
So far, I’ve enjoyed this course more than any other qualification I’ve done! I haven’t really thought about which route I’d like to go down whether it’s going to university or an apprenticeship – but I know it’ll have something to do with Games Design.
Would you recommend ESC to a future student. If so, why?
Yes, the Games, Animation and 3D modelling course has been so fun and I feel like I’m constantly learning new things! There’s a great balance of technical learning and having fun in creating something using your imagination.
