Access qualifications provide an alternative route to university or Higher Education for students aged 19+, who may not have suitable level 3 qualifications. The Access to Computing Diploma is for students with a keen interest in computing and a high level of commitment to studying this subject.
This one year study programme provides with an intensive introduction to the basic principles, concepts, and skills, both mathematical and computing, in a variety of areas of study including:

About Access to HE
The Access to HE Diploma is intended to prepare people without traditional entry qualifications for degree level study at university. It may also be used by people wishing to make a career change or who have been out of formal education for a significant time to gain the skills and confidence required for direct progression to employment or further study. The Access to HE Diploma is regulated by QAA and widely recognised as a progression route by universities across the UK.
A pass in GCSEs Maths and English, as a mark of ability at level 2 or equivalent industry experience.
There is no requirement for learners to have prior skills, knowledge or understanding. However, learners would be expected to be able to demonstrate the skills and ability to study at level 3.
Upon successful completion of the course, you can apply to university to study for a degree in IT such as computer science, software engineering, information systems, computer forensics, networking and security.
Please note that success on the course does not automatically guarantee a place at university. However, the vast majority of our students’ progress to their chosen university courses each year.

The fees displayed are the MAXIMUM payable by adults aged 19+ unless you qualify for a concessionary fee. Please be aware that there may be additional costs for materials.
Concessions
Tuition fees may be waived or reduced if you are on a low income or receive certain benefits.
If you don’t qualify for a concession, you will need to pay for your course in full or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost (Level 3-6 courses only).
