On this course you’ll develop sound knowledge of the healthcare sector preparing you for the first year of any health-related degree course.

- Understanding Human Health and Disease.
- Understanding Ethics in Healthcare.
- Cells, Tissues and Organs for Healthcare
- Understanding Mental Health.
- The Effects of Stress.
- Child Development
- Disease and Body Defence.
- Academic Study Skills.
- Independent Academic Study.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
- Stationery –writing pad, file, pens, pencils and plastic wallets.
- Having your own laptop is essential.
Applicants must be aged 19+. GCSE English at grade 9-4 (A*-C) and at least one of the following: A full level 2 qualification. Substantial work experience in a related field (to be discussed at interview).
Upon successful completion of the course, you can apply to university to study for a degree in nursing or other health professional services. Please note that success on the course does not automatically guarantee a place at university. However, the vast majority of our students’ progress to their chosen university courses each year.
There is a continued assessment throughout the programme, allowing students to improve and develop continually. Assessment comes in a range of forms including reports, practical assessment and observation, computer based examination, online assessments and presentations.
The fees displayed are the MAXIMUM payable by adults aged 19+ unless you qualify for a concessionary fee. Please be aware that there may be additional costs for materials.
Concessions
Tuition fees may be waived or reduced if you are on a low income or receive certain benefits.
If you don’t qualify for a concession, you will need to pay for your course in full or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost (Level 3-6 courses only).
