This Level 4 Award focuses on internal quality assurance processes and practice and is intended for those who wish to work in quality assurance in a wide range of environments such as further education (FE) colleges, independent training organisations or local authorities.

DELIVERY MODEL:
A combination of face-to-face lessons in the classroom, remote delivery via Teams, one-to-one tutorials.
UNITS/TOPICS COVERED:
The Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (IQA) Level 4 for practitioners who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process, comprises two units:
- 401 –Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practice (6 credits)
- 402 –Internally assure the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
Access to a computer/laptop.
You need to demonstrate Level 2 in English. It is recommended trainee IQAs hold a recognised assessing qualification at level 3. Trainee IQAs must have access to assessors assessing learners completing vocational qualifications in order to generate the evidence required to complete this qualification.
The qualification allows candidates to progress into employment as teachers/trainer. You can transfer three credits to Certificate in Education and Training (CET) Level 4.
Progression routes:
- Award in Education and Training (AET) Level 3
- Certificate in Education and Training (CET) Level 4
- Diploma in Education and Training (DET) Level 5
You will be assessed by a combination of knowledge tasks, professional discussion-based tasks and a theory-based task, along with practical activities relating to quality assuring assessment.
The fees displayed are the MAXIMUM payable by adults aged 19+ unless you qualify for a concessionary fee. Please be aware that there may be additional costs for materials.
Concessions
Tuition fees may be waived or reduced if you are on a low income or receive certain benefits.
If you don’t qualify for a concession, you will need to pay for your course in full or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost (Level 3-6 courses only).
