What led you to choosing this course? If you chose to do a T Level course, why?
I’ve always been interested in art, which was inspired by my mum and aunty, who are both creative and have always encouraged me to explore it further. I also studied it in school, which led me to take it at the GCSE level. Their support and my studies have helped me develop a strong passion for it.
Why did you decide to study at ESC?
It was a single course, which allowed me to focus more on one thing. I felt that the Reigate School of Art had a good size department, which offered a supportive and interactive environment. Attending a taster day here, really opened my eyes and gave me valuable knowledge which helped confirm my decision to continue in this area.
What did you enjoy most about your course?
What I enjoyed most was having the chance to try different things. It helped me figure out what I liked, and once I had a better idea, I could focus on those areas more.
Overall, how did you find the teaching/support?
My tutors are very supportive. They listen to my goals and help me apply them to my work, which they always offered guidance and feedback to help me improve.
What are your future plans once you’ve finished your course?
I don’t feel that university is the right path for me, as I’m more of a hands-on learner than someone who enjoys studying. I’m considering an apprenticeship or commission-based work, possibly as a tattoo artist, though I’m still figuring out the best direction for my future.
Would you recommend ESC to a future student? If so, why?
I would recommend this college because of the quality of teaching. The tutors play a big role in my experience here and are a key reason why I enjoy my course at ESC.
