Dylan chose East Surrey College to help him get used to coming into College regularly, and since starting the course has enjoyed activities such as cooking and working collaboratively with those in his class. He likes how welcoming the College is and the support he receives from his tutor.
What led you to choosing this course?
I wanted to get used to coming into college every day and East Surrey College is close to home. I chose this course because it will eventually give me the skills I need to get work experience.
Why did you decide to study at ESC?
My school used to do trips here and we got a tour of the whole building. We got to see all the classrooms including the Foundation Learning spaces, like the kitchen and classrooms. I really liked the look of it here.Â

What did you enjoy most about your course?  Â
It’s a welcoming course and everyone gets on well. My favorite activity is cooking; we recently made food we have made at college is spaghetti carbonara and pizza. Â
Overall, how did you find the teaching/support? Â
I feel like I can talk to my tutors about anything, and they’re very helpful. They’ve helped me a lot during the course so far.
Did you complete any work experience during this course?
Not during the course, but in the past, I used to work in my local market for about two years. I was on the fresh fruit and vegetable stall, and I used to help in stocking the stalls and helping customers find what they’re looking for.
What are your future plans once you’ve finished your course?
Hopefully next year I will get onto one of the Motor Vehicle courses at ESC. I love cars and the workshop here is really amazing, one of my friends is on the course and loves it.Â
Would you recommend ESC to a future student? If so, why? Â
I’ve met a lot of nice people here, so I would recommend it. It’s a good place to get qualifications that you might not be able to get elsewhere.
