This package is designed for those wanting to work as an assessor and trainer in work environment and training settings, and colleges.
DELIVERY MODEL:
The course at East Surrey College combines face-to-face lessons in the classroom, remote delivery via Teams,
and one-to-one tutorials.Remote delivery to external organisations is flexible and can be tailored to the needs of your organisation.
UNITS/TOPICS COVERED:
This package covers:
- Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
- Understanding Principles and Practices of Assessment
- Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
- Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
Access to a computer/laptop.
You need to demonstrate Level 2 in English. No prior teaching/training experience is required, but you need to be able to assess learners in their work environment.
The qualification allows candidates to progress into employment as a teacher/trainer. You can transfer three credits to Certificate in Education and Training (CET) Level 4.
Progression routes:
- Certificate in Education and Training (CET) Level 4
- Diploma in Education and Training (DET) Level 5
- Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (IQA) Level 4
- Certificate in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice Level 4
You will be expected to complete a range of assignments for both courses which are submitted and then marked by your tutor. As part of your course, you will complete a short practical micro-teaching session as part of your teacher training qualification. You’ll also be required, as part of the CAVA qualification to assess learners in their work environment.
The fees displayed are the MAXIMUM payable by adults aged 19+ unless you qualify for a concessionary fee. Please be aware that there may be additional costs for materials.
Concessions
Tuition fees may be waived or reduced if you are on a low income or receive certain benefits.
If you don’t qualify for a concession, you will need to pay for your course in full or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost (Level 3-6 courses only).
