Abi was introduced to the Apprenticeship route in Year 8, by her mum who worked for an airline and was already familiar with the pathway.  This opened up the opportunity for Abi to learn in a more practical way as  “our school offered some practical learning but not very much.”  With an interest in taking things apart and rebuilding, Abi knew that Engineering would be the best industry for her.  She was excited to be successful in the application process for the Gatwick Airport Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme and is particularly looking forward to the baggage, shuttle and airfield elements.
