ESC students are published writers!

ESC students are published writers!

Date: 16 May 2022

Students from the English department at East Surrey College took part in the Young Writers competition entitled “Twisted Tales” last term which required students to delve into their creative writing skills. Students created “mini sagas” which involved writing an interesting tale in less than 500 words. In the lead-up to the deadline, tutors identified 8 which were exceptionally well written, and these were entered into the competition. The competition deadline was 16 December 2021 and in total over 19,000 entries were submitted nationally.

The Editors of the book looked for imagination, creativity, originality, use of language, and interpretation of the theme to decide who should be included in the publication. Out of the 8 students who were entered, 4 have been selected to be included in the Young Writers publication titled “Twisted Tales – Tales from the Dark Side”.

Congratulations to our young writers:

Charlie – Sports Level 2
Georgina – Sports Level 2
Khalid – Plumbing Level 2
Kiera – Art & Design Level 1
