Congratulations to our Bricklaying Apprentice Rory, who was commended at the 2019 Youthbuild UK Young Builder of the Year Awards!
Youthbuild UK has a mission to inspire disadvantaged young people to succeed in the construction industry. They work with a variety of organisations to provide training and employment across the UK. The 17th annual awards were held at the House of Commons, and Rory received tools and a certificate, after his commendation in the 18-24 year old category.
Rory Phillips is studying towards an Intermediate Apprenticeship qualification, and works as a Bricklaying Apprentice with Engie, an energy and services company.
Suzanne Bingham, TAG Development Officer at Engie, commented:
“We are incredibly proud of Rory and are delighted by his success. He worked very hard throughout his apprenticeship and has developed into a skilled multi-trader and a fantastic role model. He is a great asset to the ENGIE team. Rory’s recent recognition by Youthbuild UK and On the Tools demonstrates how far he has come, and what you can achieve with determination and effort.”
