This intermediate course is aimed at students who want to build on their experience of Art & Design from school. The course gives a broad introduction to the subject areas as well as the important basic skills and understanding needed in this subject area. It includes Painting, Graphic Design, Drawing, 3D Work, Photography, Digital Imaging and Animation. This course gives a solid foundation for a career route into a job in the Creative Industries. It also provides a progression route to the more specialist Art & Design Level 3 Extended Diploma.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
Pens, pencils, acrylic paints, a general equipment work box including glue stick.
5 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and Maths; or a Level 1 qualification plus English and Maths at the appropriate level.
This course provides the progression route for a career in the creative industries of Art, Design and Media also the Art & Design Level 3 Extended Diploma specialising in subjects such as: Graphic Design, Fashion and Textiles, Illustration, Animation, Multimedia Design, Three Dimensional Design, Photography, Fine Art and the Film and Television Production if students have the required grades.
There is continued assessment throughout the programme across a range of projects, allowing students to improve and develop continually. Assessment comes in a range of forms including creative projects, portfolio of evidence and presentations.
Students aged 16 to 18, or those aged 16 to 24 who have a valid EHCP and are studying a full-time course, do not have to pay a course fee.
Students aged 19+ (without an EHCP) may have to pay tuition fees. Please contact Client Services for more information.
