The Level 1 Diploma is designed to develop your creative skills needed for this subject and encourage achievement to your full potential. The course offers a broad introduction to Creative Media for those with little practical experience, but who are committed to working in this area. This is a good access course for the subject in order to prepare learners for Level 2 or as a stepping-stone to alternative courses or employment.

UNITS/TOPICS COVERED:
This course offers a wide range of exploration using different media, resources, and processes. Units and topics include:
- Introduction to materials, processes and skills
- Introduction to contextual research
- Introduction to communication skills
- Solving 2D creative problems
- Solving 3D creative problems
- Solving time-based creative problems
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
You may need to buy some materials if you choose to work with resources, which are not provided. A list of materials will be given on the first day of term.
4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above including English and Maths (considerations made on a case-by-case basis).
This course provides the progression route for a career in the creative industries and can offer the chance to progress on to the Art, Design and Media UAL Level 2 Diploma or the Creative Media UAL Level 2 Diploma.
There is continued assessment throughout the programme across a range of projects, allowing students to improve and develop continually. Assessment comes in a range of forms including creative projects, portfolio of evidence and presentations.
Students aged 16 to 18, or those aged 16 to 24 who have a valid EHCP and are studying a full-time course, do not have to pay a course fee.
Students aged 19+ (without an EHCP) may have to pay tuition fees. Please contact Client Services for more information.
