This qualification introduces the principles of safe working practices around electric and hybrid vehicles. It covers the potential hazards and the precautions required to prevent injury when working near these vehicles.
Learners will gain the knowledge and confidence to work safely within the automotive retail industry, which is experiencing a growing presence of electric and hybrid vehicles in the workplace.
This course is designed for adults (19+) working in the automotive sector or public services sector that require safety awareness.
Learners successfully completing this qualification will acquire significant core knowledge of working safely around, but not maintaining electric/hybrid vehicles.

- the types of electric/hybrid vehicles available
- hazards associated with motor vehicle high energy electrical systems
- working safely around electric/hybrid vehicles including charging
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and learners are not expected to have any prior knowledge or experience, however an interest in the subject area is advisable.
