This course offers an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in learning to weld, particularly those unsure which process best suits their needs. It provides a solid foundation in welding techniques alongside essential health and safety knowledge.
This practical course has been developed for beginners or people working in the trade with no formal qualifications in welding. You will learn different methods of welding.

- Tungsten Inert Gas Welding
- Metal Inert Gas Welding
- Manual Metal Arc Welding
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
- Steel or composite toe safety shoes or boots
- Engineering overalls appropriate for welding processes
- Safety glasses
- Welding helmet recommended
Ideal for anyone who wants to become a welder and is new to welding, metal fabrication, thermal cutting and/or brazing and soldering.
10 practical assignements and 2 knowledge tests.
The fees displayed are the MAXIMUM payable by adults aged 19+ unless you qualify for a concessionary fee. Please be aware that there may be additional costs for materials.
Concessions
Tuition fees may be waived or reduced if you are on a low income or receive certain benefits.
If you don’t qualify for a concession, you will need to pay for your course in full or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost (Level 3-6 courses only).
