This pathway prepares you for a potential career in the sound and music industry and offers a progression route to higher education. It offers exciting opportunities to learn professional production techniques working in professional sound studios and Mac Suites with Logic & Pro Tools. You will learn how to prepare for employment or self-employment within the creative industries. Mature students with or without formal qualifications are encouraged to apply.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:

5 GCSE grade 9-4 (A*-C) including a relevant subject, English and Maths; or Level 2 Diploma Merit/Distinction and GCSE grade 9-4 (A*-C) in English and Maths.
The course is equivalent to three A Levels and will provide a pathway to further study at degree level or employment in the sound and music industry including: recording studios, radio stations, live sound, music management, film and television sound and any other area of media that incorporates audio.
There is a continued assessment throughout the programme, allowing students to improve and develop continually. Assessment comes in a range of forms including creative projects, portfolio of evidence and live performances.
Students aged 16 to 18, or those aged 16 to 24 who have a valid EHCP and are studying a full-time course, do not have to pay a course fee.
Students aged 19+ (without an EHCP) may have to pay tuition fees. Please contact Client Services for more information.
