Bridgette Anderson

Member of the Learning and Quality and Strategy Committees.

Bridgette joined East Surrey College Corporation in December 2022.

Bridgette has been a Civil Servant for over forty years, working for a variety of Government Departments including Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (Customs and Excise) and The Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (formerly known as The Foreign and Commonwealth Office). Since 2004, Bridgette has been an Employment Law Advisor and Conciliator with the Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas).

Bridgette is a Disability Champion within Acas and is passionate about helping others and raising awareness on disability issues, for which she was awarded an MBE in 2019. 

She is an ex-student of John Ruskin College and is delighted to be able to reconnect with Orbital South Colleges as a governor.  She is a member of the Civil Service Disability Network and the Civil Service Deaf and Hard of Hearing Network and was recently elected Chair of the Acas Disability Network.  She is also a Mental Health First Aider, regularly assisting colleagues, particularly during the Covid pandemic.

Bridgette’s hobbies include reading, writing, walking, (raising funds for British Heart Foundation) and the arts, visiting museums and theatres.
