Jenny Adamson - Member of the Learning and Quality and Strategy Committees.Jenny Adamson

Jenny is shortly to retire from a long career in education, her current role is the Headteacher of Saffron Valley Collegiate.  She is passionate about the delivery of high quality teaching and learning and securing all that needs to be in place to facilitate good practice in the classroom: robust safeguarding, personalised pastoral care, capturing and responding to the voice of the learner, safe and high quality resources and careful attention to staff wellbeing.

In 2022, she was awarded an MBE, (in the Queen’s final birthday honours list), for services to the education of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.

Before her retirement, Jenny was involved with the Department for Education Alternative Provision Stakeholder Group who met regularly with DfE colleagues to provide strategic input to the development of a range of legislation, by providing the perspective of alternative providers.  On occasion, this required her to host visits from DfE colleagues and deliver presentations.

Post retirement, Jenny is continuing with her work with the DfE with regards to the national AP Specialist Taskforce Pilot; a programme designed to address serious youth violence by creating multi-agency teams within alternative provision settings.
