Armistice Day at East Surrey College

Armistice Day at East Surrey College

Date: 11 November 2016

On the morning of 11 November staff and students gathered together in the Winter Garden to respectfully observe the Two Minute Silence for Armistice Day.

Level 3 Public Services students marched formally into the Winter Garden and joined the rest of the students assembled. Wreaths were laid by a student from each department at the foot of an image of the Cenotaph (this was projected onto a screen by Reigate School of Art).

At the close of the Two Minute Silence, poppies were scattered from the balcony above by the Life Skills - SEND students and a recitation of the poem "In Flanders Fields" was played. All students and staff involved showed great respect for this important day.
