Arts & Design Students hear from UAL
Date: 07 October 2021
Students from Reigate School of Art studying our Level 3 Diploma in Creative Practice and Level 4 Foundation courses attended a talk hosted by Olivia, a Student Recruitment Officer from the University of the Arts London (UAL). UAL is ranked 2nd in the world for Art & Design in accordance to the 2021 QS World University Rankings.
Reigate School of Art is an approved centre for the UAL Awarding Body; through which we are able to offer creative arts qualifications to our students.
Before Olivia spoke about UAL, she gave students several hints and tips on how to choose a university, below are some of our favourites:
- Compare university courses on UK ranking websites
- Does the university showcase graduate work – showing you potential future projects
- Does the university offer specialised courses, does the course have an industry placement or an integrated Masters?
Students were told “This next decision in your life is crucial in allowing you to strive for the career you want. University can bring you to the correct level of skill and knowledge needed.”
Olivia continued to give the students a detailed breakdown of the various colleges and specialised courses UAL offer, whilst incorporating her own personal experiences and talking about the benefits of going to university. Olivia showcased a video created by UAL students on the experience of university and the types of projects students could be working on.
Towards the end of the talk, students were given the time to ask any questions and were given details on how to apply for any courses at UAL.
