Beauty Therapy Students Provide Free Massages for NHS Staff
Date: 22 November 2021
Our Beauty Therapy Level 3 students gave back to the community, as they provided complimentary massages for NHS staff. With two sessions fully booked, this was a brilliant opportunity for our students to put into practice the skills they have learnt so far.
The treatments, which included foot, face and back massages, contributed towards the students’ ‘Provide Body Massage’ Unit. This included the client consultation, treatment objectives and awareness of salon health and safety.
Beauty Therapy Tutor, Carly, shared:
“For the students, it’s all about them giving back and today they will feel a sense of achievement. These will be their first external clients, so it’s a great way for them to develop their skills.”
One happy client, Denise, commented:
“It’s great to have a bit of ‘me time’ and it’s so kind of them to do this, with all that we’ve been through in the past 2 years!”
The visitors enjoyed relaxing in the calming salon environment, which is part of ESC’s extensive Hair, Beauty & Spa facilities! We chatted to a few of the students to find out what they loved about the event:
“It feels good to give back to the community.”
Heather
“I’m looking forward to practising my techniques and meeting NHS staff.”
