Covid-19 Update
Date: 13 May 2021
Following updated guidance issued by the Government, from Monday 17 May students will no longer be required to wear face coverings in classrooms, laboratories and workshops. Tutors will maintain the 2m social distancing in the classrooms. In circumstances where tutors are unable to maintain the 2m social distancing (such as for some activities in practical workshops), masks will continue to be worn by them.
All staff and students are encouraged to get tested twice a week. Around 1 in 3 people who have Covid-19 have no symptoms. Tests are quick and free to collect from College, with results in around 30 minutes. Whatever your result, report it right away. And help keep life moving.
Record the results on the Government website and to the College via the following links:

Staff and students are still required to wear face coverings in all social/communal spaces within the College buildings when social distancing is not possible.
These include:
- Reception and Client Services
- Lifts and lift lobbies
- Corridors and stairwells
- The Winter Garden
- Canteen area (when not eating/drinking)
- College shop
- Learning Resource Centre
- Redstone Room at Gatton Point South
In line with our current policy, staff and students are still required to take face coverings home for disposal or washing. Any student or staff member that has a medical exemption is required to register this with their Curriculum Administrator (students) or Line Manager (staff). If the exemption is confirmed, then they will be issued with a purple lanyard that must be worn at all times to make others aware.
Thank you for your continued support.
