Team ESC triumph in the Student Motorsport Challenge at Snetterton
Team ESC returned triumphant from a rain soaked yet thrilling weekend at Snetteron race circuit where they took part in rounds 10, 11 and 12 of the exciting Nankang City Car Cup and Student Motorsport Challenge.
At the event, the fourth of the 2023 race calendar, our team entered three races and achieved an amazing result with two 1st places and a 3rd!
George Keith, Coordinator - Motor Vehicle & Lead – Motorsports, was delighted that the team had returned to the front of the pack, achieving even greater success than they had in the 2022 Challenge.
“These were by far the best results we have ever got – absolutely brilliant, especially considering the track conditions in this weather. We got the set-up right, the geometry and the tyre pressures. Jack Wheeler is a fantastic driver - you could see at the start of the season he was learning the ropes and gaining confidence with the car and now he’s right at the front of the grid."
Richard Drayson, Technician – Motor Vehicle, added:
“George Keith’s technical expertise enabled the students to set the car up for the conditions, and Jack Wheeler piloted the car extremely well, given the rainy weather. We’ve gained valuable points and are really looking forward to the next event at Brands Hatch on 19-20 August!”
The event was live streamed by BRSCC ( British Racing and Sports Car Club) on YouTube and Jack was interviewed by the presenter.
